VISUAL IDENTITY
The logo concept is inspired by analog film reels and their edge markings — symbolizing the continuous flow of time and collective memory. This visual metaphor became the foundation of a modular grid system used across all media.
The identity balances the timeless character of archival material with a contemporary, minimal design language. The structured grid reflects preservation and order, while bold typography and dynamic layouts introduce a sense of relevance and movement.
The result is a cohesive brand identity that positions Chronika as a cultural nonprofit initiative bridging past and present through design, education, and community engagement.
PROCESS
The project began with research into contemporary European museums and cultural institutions working with photography and 20th-century history. I analyzed how these organizations communicate their social value, engage communities, and present archival material in a modern context.
Based on this research, I developed a positioning strategy for Chronika as an inclusive, forward-thinking cultural initiative. The concept combined physical exhibitions with digital formats, educational programs, and community-driven events. I also defined potential exhibition themes and curated visual references to shape the narrative and tone of the brand.
All headlines and communication texts were written by me, with a focus on clarity, emotional resonance, and accessibility.
Branding for a Modern Museum
TASK
As part of a conceptual design project, I developed the brand identity for a cultural startup dedicated to preserving and reinterpreting historical photography and video archives. The initiative, titled Chronika, was conceived as a hybrid platform — part museum, part educational space, and part digital archive — with the mission of making visual history accessible to a broader and younger audience.
